Guest Bartender & Charity Event - December 11!

Danny Colton will be our guest bartender on Wednesday, December 11th from 4 to 9pm. Nicknamed Tony Soprano because he really knows how to get things done, Danny is a real estate developer who's always wanted to be center stage behind the bar. On December 11th, he'll have his chance. Join him on his belated 70th birthday and help him celebrate with a glass of Caymus, the featured wine of the evening! Chef Rik will also offer special retail pricing on bottles of Caymus. 

 

A percentage of the proceeds will go towards the Juvenile Diabetes Foundation (JDF) and the Davidsonville Athletic Association (DAA). Aside from the donations made by Harvest Thyme Tavern, Matt Facchina and Danny Colton will each match 100% of the gratuity generated at the bar. Their donations will to go towards the JDF and DAA, so please, take good care of our bartenders! Your generous tip will help go towards a good cause, and it will be well appreciated by our staff.

San Lorenzo

From San Lorenzo Vineyard in Marche, Conero in central Italy

This wine is made from 100% Montepulciano grapes. The grapes are harvested from two of the estate's vineyards in the Osimo and Ancona areas of central Italy. This wine displays all the potential of both its terroir and the Montepulciano grapes. To the nose, this wine is sweet and predominantly fruity; to the mouth, this wine is rich, pulpy, intensely fruity and flavorful with a long finish. 

The grapes are harvested by hand, destalked and lightly pressed, then are left for maceration for 10-12 days in steel fermentation vats. Once the alcoholic fermentation is finished, the wine begins the malolactic fermentation, then moves onto the aging process. The wine is aged for about 12 months, assembled, then rests in a bottle for a further 6 months. 

The San Lorenzo vineyard has been family owned since the mid 1960s, when the Bianchi-Bernetti's began working on the production of Rosso Conero. The vineyards that produce San Lorenzo consist of mostly clay and calcareous soils, rest at about 100-150 meters above sea level, and utilize the spurred cordon training system. 

The vineyards are family-run and managed by Michele Bernetti and his father Massimo. They work together in a harmonious and balanced way, bringing tribute to the individuals who make the estate run, and constantly innovating, experimenting and investigating.
